The JCNM Department in the Thompson Rivers University Faculty of Arts, together with Kamloops Photo Arts Club, are seeking submissions for the 1st Annual Kamloops Inner Light Photo Contest. All photographers (13 and over) from the TNRD Electoral District are invited to participate.

Thanks to the generosity of a local donor, the Kamloops Inner Light Photo Contest is pleased to offer cash and gear prizes to the winning submissions.
Participants are invited to submit up to three images of their original photographic work (taken between December 1, 2017 to present) to be considered for prizes and exhibition. Selected photographs will become part of an exhibition that will be shown at a variety of local venues throughout the year, including Thompson Rivers University.

9 awesome prizes to be awarded in all! In a double-blind judging process, the images considered to be the strongest overall (regardless of category) will receive prizes as follows:
- First Prize $250 and a large Wacom Intuos tablet (approximate value $570)
- Second Prize $150
- Student Prize $100 (must be a registered student at Thompson Rivers University, any school in the Kamloops elector district, or be able (upon request) to provide proof of home schooling enrolment, to qualify for this prize.)
5 prizes of $100 cash will be presented for the images judged to be the best entry from each of the following five categories:
- Landscape or Seascape
- Wildlife or Nature
- Portrait (Including Headshot, Full-body, Environmental, Animal, and Street Photography)
- Phoneography and Alternative (cell and drone photography)
- Photomanipulation and Alternative Processes
1 VIEWERS CHOICE AWARD: A prize of $100 cash will be awarded to the image that receives the most votes online during the course of the contest.
No watermarks, please. Images including watermarks will not be displayed on the contest site.
In the sole discretion of the Kamloops Inner Light Photo Contest (KILPC), the photograph may not contain any subject that in their (KILPC) opinion is obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content. Photographs considered inappropriate will be disqualified and therefore, are ineligible for awards.
All Entries must adhere to the rules and regulations as determined by Kamloops Inner Light Photo Contest in their sole discretion.
