Description: Anyone who goes owling often knows that it is very difficult. Often times, long hours searching are rewarded with no sightings. Sometimes, however, you get lucky. That is what happened to me on this particular day. I was out photographing deer when I accidentally snuck up on this beautiful Barred Owl. He flew a few meters away and perched in a nearby willow. I was lucky enough to snap this shot before he flew off. Sometimes in nature photography, you just get lucky.
